Before adding: Which skill needs practice, and is it already covered by school or another resource?

Find books to read or share.

Epic, or a physical book library

Epic has books with narration and audio-only books. Choosing a book to share is different from choosing practice for a specific skill.³

Before choosing: Is the child reading the words, listening, or reading with an adult? Name the activity you want.

Understand a persistent difficulty.

Start with the teacher and actual work

Ask what the difficulty is, what support is in place, and how progress will be checked.

A valid decision: Add nothing yet while you identify the missing support.

Role comparison, not an efficacy ranking. Apps overlap. Listening is valuable; it is not the same activity as reading the words yourself.
