- Kialo is free with no ads or data abuse — forever. As a nonprofit, we exist for the good of society. Our goal is that students everywhere — no matter their circumstances — can learn to think critically and discuss civilly. In order to achieve this, Kialo is free and always will be. Unlike most edtechs, Kialo is a nonprofit and entirely funded by a private philanthropic foundation. This allows us to be a wholly impact-driven organization, and as such, Kialo generates no revenue from its users. We do not sell ad space on our site, and we do not share, rent, sell, trade, or otherwise disclose user data. We are based in Germany because its world-leading protections around privacy and data abuse align with our values. Kialo has proudly operated under this model since our founding in 2011.
